PEBBLE BEACH SHOW

Lightacres had a great show at Pebble Beach. The kids who attended were doing their first rated horseshow – so it was very exciting!

Ragtime

Our stallion, Ragtime, was very consistent for the two weeks he was at Pebble and finished as over-all Grand Champion Regular Working Hunter. The first week he won every Regular Hunter Class! Jenifer Paris showed Rags to the wins.

Sercona

The Leapperz Group’s, Sercona, was consistently in the ribbons both weeks at Pebble Beach. Topped by winning the $5,000.00 Gamblers Choice, Sercona also won a Level 7 jumper class. She and Jeni were 8 th in the Festival Grand Prix and 6 th in the $10,000.00 Lexus Derby out of 44 entries!

Pia'sadorable

The last time Sue Lightner’s Pia’sadorable competed at Pebble Beach she was Pre-Green and Modified Hunter Champion. This year Pia did her first level 6 jumper division and was champion! Ridden by Jenifer Paris, Pia was third in the $5,000.00 Gamblers Choice at the Festival and 5 th in the $10,000.00 Lexus Derby at Classic II.

Sam and Winning Ticket

Samantha Porteous arrived at Pebble Beach expecting to show her wonderful pony Neapolitan. Unfortunately, he bruised his foot and couldn’t show. Lisa Haas came to the rescue and allowed Sam to show her horse Winning Ticket at Festival I. Sam’s first time on this horse was a success! Sam and “Tommy” Haas aka Winning Ticket were Reserve Champions in the Short Stirrup!

Lisa Haas and 'Tommy'

Lisa Haas came for Festival II and took over the reins. Lisa and “Tommy” were Reserve Champions in the 12 and under Equitation and second in the Onondarka medal. It was Lisa’s first Onondarka!

Katie Zeff and 'Jolly'

Joy Ride and Katie Zeff enjoyed success at Pebble Beach. Katie and “Jolly” won a Maiden Equitation over Fences class and ended up Champion in the Maiden Equitation Division.

Anne Reid and Rubicon

Anne Reid’s Rubicon received good prizes in the Pre Green Hunters, topped by winning both the Handy Hunter and the Pre Green under saddle classes. Anne showed Rubi in the Long Stirrup under Saddle and was second. Anne rode Ragtime(pictured) in her Equitation Classes.

Fagahno and Pam Orcutt

Fagahno, owned by Pam Orcutt, was consistently in the ribbons in the First Year Green and the Green Conformation. Fagahno won the First Year Under Saddle at Festival I and won the A/A hack with Pam onboard. Pam also won good ribbons in the A/A over fences.

Ragtime Babies in the Ribbons

Ragtime’s babies, Reggae and Rhythm of the Night, came to show in the Hunter Breeding. They were first and second in the Yearling class at both shows and Reggae was Reserve Best Young Horse at Festival I. Selig, another Lightacres homebred, won the Two Year Old Class at both Festival I and II.

DIAMOND BAR - AUGUST 12TH

Lightacres journeyed to Diamond Bar in Ceres, CA for the final show in the Diamond Bar Hi-Point Series. It was a very successful day, topped by a warm tribute to our friend Ed Haas given by the owner of Diamond Bar, Shane Parson.

The series High Point awards went to Lori Clark and Lionel for the Open Division, Pat Schepp and Kalvados for the 18 and Over Division and to Lisa Haas and Winning Ticket for the 17 & Under Division.

Lightacres sponsored the series Handy Hunter Championships in honor of our friend Ed Haas. The Open Championship was won by Lori Clark and Lionel, the 18 & Over was won by Pat Schepp and Kalvados and the 17 & Under was won by Lisa Haas and Winning Ticket.

Take NoticeTen horse and rider combinations attended the show, and everyone had a great day.

Joy Ride and Katie Zeff, consistent as always, won the 17 & under Equitation Over Fences, the Low Hunters, the 17 & under walk-trot equitation, and the 17& under Hunter Hack.

Along with all her series High Point wins, Lisa Haas won the Equitation 17 & under and the 17 & under Under Saddle with Winning Ticket.

Along with her series championship, Pat Schepp and Kalvados won both the flat Equitation and the Equitation over Fences 18 & Over. Leslie Field and Whitzabouter and Anne Reid and Stefan got top ribbons all day in all the 18& over classes.

Our Open riders had a super day as well. Jenifer Paris and Victoria’s Due North won all of their over fence classes. Lori Clark and Lionel were second to Jeni in all the Open over fence classes. Lori and Lionel were also the series Champions and won the Open Equitation and the Open Hunter under Saddle.

Lightacres would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Shane Parson for providing us with three very enjoyable and relaxing horseshows this year. We also thank him for his moving tribute to our friend, Ed Haas.
